Helmet Explanation:
This helmet, once hardened shell of defense, now pulses with life and color – bold pinks, vivid
hues – a stark contrast to the object’s original purpose. At the center of this transformation is a
white egg, its golden yolk a quiet, radiant core. This egg, fragile and unassuming, represents
the seed of a dove, a delicate emblem of peace. It rests here, untouched, waiting for the
moment it will break open and soar.
“One Day I Will Fly” is a narrative of hope suspended. The egg symbolizes a promise yet to
be fulfilled, a dream waiting unfold–a vision of peace that we hold close but cannot yet grasp.
But it’s also deeply personal, a symbol that reaches into the heart of every individual who
encounters it. We are all, in some way, this egg–each carrying within us the potential for flight,
for transcendence, for becoming more than we are.
In transforming this helmet, I aimed to capture that tension between defense and vulnerability,
between the weight of reality and the yearning for freedom. It is both a reflection of our
collective struggle and an invitation to see ourselves in the fragile, determined hope that one
day, we too, will rise and take flight.
